The curtain was brought down on Women in League Round with Wests Tigers get a reality check after testing their credentials against Melbourne, while old foes Manly and Cronulla renew ed hostilities at 4 Pines Park.

With star recruits Jarome Luai, Terrell May and Sunia Turuva showing the way, Wests Tigers have been big improvers and had five wins in 2025, one less than they conjured in all of 2024.

Of their five victories, only one has come against a finals team from last year - the Sharks in Round 8 - so Benji Marshall would have been keen to see his team stand up be counted against the Storm. However, they came up against a Melbourne side stung into action by their Round 9 loss, with Ryan Papenhuyzen getting a first-half hat-trick.

The final match in Round 10 took fans to Sydney's northern beaches for the 111th meeting between the Sea Eagles and Sharks.

The rivalry dates back to 1967 and traditionally has favoured Manly, but in more recent times the Sharks have won five of their past six clashes, including the last three at 4 Pines Park. The visitors made that four in a row after a dominating the start and the end of the match.

Sea Eagles: Round 10

Cronulla Sharks

Sharks: Round 10

Fulltime: The Sharks get the job done in enemy territory, withstanding a mini-Manly fightback to convert their 14-0 halftime lead into a 30-14 win. Manly seemed flat to start the game, but burst into life in the second half with a try of the year contender, before the Sharks re-took control with three tries in nine minutes to close out the game.

Hynes converts again - his fourth conversion, plus a penalty goal - and it's 30-14

66th min: Feisty scenes at 4 Pines Park with the team coming together after a try is awarded to Trindall who pounces on a lost ball in the Manly in-goal. The try came about after Billy Burns tackles Sea Eagles centre Garrick who was trying to get out of his team's danger zone in the in-goal after collecting a Hynes kick, but the ball jolts free to give the Sharks a try against the run of play Hynes converts and the Sharks are back in front 20-14

Braydon Trindall Try

62nd min: Scores a now level after the Sea Eagles get a penalty in front of the sticks with the Sharks pinged for being offside. Garrick slots it for 14-14.

54th min: Manly a fairly and squarely back in this game with Koula for his double. The momentum has been slowly turning the way of the home side, with the centre stepping his way over the try line. Garrick slots another for a 14-12 scoreline.

Tolutau Koula 2nd Try

Braydon Trindall was sent from the field for a HIA during this passage, but in good news has passed, enabling him to return to the field.

46th min: The Sea Eagles needed something special to scire their first try and they have delivered another contender for try of the round in a weekend filled with great four-pointers. Haumole Olakau'atu scoops up a dropped Sharks ball, dribbles a kick ahead for Jason Saab to attempt his own kick ahead as well which is picked up then passed inside from Reuben Garrick back to Saab who finds Tolutau Koula. Garrick converts to narrow scores to 14-6

Tolutau Koula 1st Try

Injury update: Tom Hazelton came off in the first half with a reported AC joint injury.

Halftime: Cronulla head to the break with a 14-0 lead, but Sea Eagles won't be too disheartened as it felt like Sharks were dominant for most of the game, but only scored the two tries. A crowd of 15,823 have also come into 4 Pines Park for the game.

Late Mail

There was a change on Saturday with Tommy Talau dropping out due to hamstring tightness. His place on the bench is taken by Clayton Faulalo. Inspirational forward Jake Trbojevic is back from the concussion protocols and will start at prop, with Jazz Tevaga retaining his place at lock. Winger Jason Saab is back after missing the Round 8 win over the Panthers with an ankle injury.

Sharks: One late change with prop Tom Hazelton moving into the starting side in a swap with Oregon Kaufusi, who will revert to the interchange as he did in last week's win over the Eels. Hohepa Puru remains the 18th man, with Chris Vea'ila omitted. Earlier, coach Craig Fitzgibbon made one change to the side that beat the Eels at Magic Round with Daniel Atkinson joining the bench in place of Siosifa Talakai (concussion).

Storm v Wests Tigers at AAMI Park

Storm v Wests Tigers – Round 10, 2025

Press conferences

Wests Tigers

Wests Tigers: Round 10

Storm

Storm: Round 10

Fulltime: The Storm flexed their premiership muscle with a huge 64-0 win over Wests Tigers who simply had no answers at AAMI Park. Ryan Papenhuyzen had a first half hat-trick and kicked 10/11 conversions to tally 36 points, a record in a game for the Storm. The Tigers were unable to replicate some of the second-half comebacks from this round, with the Storm keeping the pressure on for the entire game.

78th min: Paps is denied a fifth try after it is deemed he knocked on in his attempt to pick up the ball before the line. Instead, it's a error and the Tigers get the ball.

75th min: The Storm are unrelenting and go over again to heap more pain onto the Tigers. This time, is Bronson Garlick who is the beneficiary from some more good play from Munster. Conversion is good for 64-0.

66th min: After helping set up the last try, Munster gets one for himself. Storm set up in their attacking 20, with Hughes running to the line, before passing to Munster who cuts back inside and scoots over. Papenhuyzen converts the simple kick for 58-0

59th min: The 50 is up for the Storm. Some great interaction between the halves Hughes inside to Cameron Munster who sends the ball outside where it eventually gets to backrower Eliesa Katoa who gets the try. Conversion is a success and it's 52-0

51st min: Playing his first NRL game since Round 3, Nelson Asofa-Solomona is the next Storm player to score, with the big man proving far to strong to stop close to the line. Good reward for some strong carries since he came on in the first half. Try is converted for a 46-0 lead.

Nelson Asofa-Solomona Try

46th min: Papenhuyzen has four - equaling his career best. Unfortunately for Wests Tigers, it's been the same script in the second half, with the Storm not taking their foot off the throat. This try was another team effort, with some great play down their left side, with Paps doing what he does best, following up in support. The conversion is made and it's 40-0

Injury update: Further bad news for the Tigers with Fonua Pole sitting out with his right knee strapped. The former Storm player left the field mid-way through the first half.

Halftime: Storm head to the sheds with a dominant 34-0 lead over Wests Tigers who just don't know what's hit them. No doubt stung by their golden point loss last week, Melbourne were switched on from the get-go and full of intent. While we have seen plenty of upsets and leads run down this weekend, the Tigers will need to do everything right in the second half to turn this one around. At the break, Storm have completed 18/22 while Wests Tigers have a 10/14 completion rate.

Nick Meaney Try

33rd min: It's raining tries at AAMI Park for the Storm who can simply do no wrong in this half it seems. Everything is going wrong for the Tigers however and this time another loose pass is punished with Nick Meaney picking up the ball off the deck and sprinting away down field to score their sixth try of the half. It's converted and scores are 34-0

26th min: And the early first half procession continues with Jarome Hughes the latest to score for the Storm. Nothing is going the way of the Tigers who kick out on the full, giving up a penalty and Storm need no further invitation to score, with try-score King helping set it up with a strong run before getting an offload away. Paps slots his fourth and it's 28-0 to Melbourne.

Josh King Try

24th min: Storm are in again. Munster launches a ball into the sky and it comes down backwards off Coates who contested the kick, with Grant Anderson picked up the scraps to send it out to Josh King who steams onto the ball. While he is tackled around the ankles, can juuust reach out to plant the ball to extend their lead. Papenhuyzen converts again for a 22-0 lead.

While the scoreboard won't show it, the Wests Tigers have been willing in this contest in the rare opportunities they have the ball, with Jarome Luai making a line break launch a counter-attack, but they haven't been able to convert their limited chances.

17th min: An the man of the moment has a hat-trick! After putting in a kick to earn his side a line drop-out, the Wests Tigers go short, but Xavier Coates is able to come down with it, runs across field to pass inside to Paps who simple sprints in straight under the posts to score. He converts this one and it's 16-0 to Storm / Ryan Papenhuyzen v Wests Tigers.

9th min: It's the Ryan Papenhuyzen show at AAMI Park, with an early double for the dynamic Storm fullback. While his first was a great individual effort, this second one is off the back of some slick play down the left side. He misses this conversion attempt and the home side lead 10-0.

Ryan Papenhuyzen 1st Try

4th min: Absolutely filthy ridiculous try from Ryan Papenhuyzen to open the scoring for the Storm. On the last play, the Storm hot-potato the ball around with some loose passes, but when it gets to the Melbourne fullback, he soccers the ball ahead to himself twice before weaving his way through defenders to somehow bring the ball down. Papenhuyzen converts his own try for a 6-0 lead.

Kick-off: Sunshine at AAMI Park with the Tigers getting first use of the ball as they attempt to win only their 13th win over the Storm in 39 outings.

Happy Mothers Day to those who celebrate! A big day of rugby league ahead.

Late Mail

Storm: In a late game-day change, Nelson Asofa-Solomona comes onto the bench for Lazarus Vaalepu for his first NRL game since Round 3, with Kane Bradley the new 18th player. Earlier in the week, coach Craig Bellamy had named the same 17 that went down to the Raiders in golden point, but Tui Kamikamica withdrew from the squad on Saturday to rest his ankle. Hooker Harry Grant remains sidelined with a hamstring injury.

Wests Tigers: One late change to the side named for the Tigers with Tony Sukkar joining the interchange bench. Jack Bird is the 18th player. Earlier in the week, coach Benji Marshall had named the same side that has beaten the Sharks and Dragons in consecutive weeks.
