The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are proud to announce the appointment of Tayla Preston and Angelina Teakaraanga-Katoa as the Club’s inaugural NRLW Co-Captains ahead of the 2025 season.
, a talented halfback, rejoined the Bulldogs this year having played 26 NRLW matches for the Parramatta Eels and Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks. A former Bulldogs Harvey Norman Women’s Premiership player, the 25-year-old has guided both the Eels (2022) and Sharks (2024) to NRLW Grand Finals. She returned to the Club this year as a marquee signing and finished the 2024 season leading the competition in kicks and kicking metres.
, a proud local junior from the Milperra Colts known as ‘Teka’, also returns to the Bulldogs after stints with the Sydney Roosters and St George Illawarra Dragons NRLW outfits. She has previously represented the Blue and White at the Harvey Norman Women’s Premiership level and brings with her a wealth of experience, including helping the Kiwi Ferns reach the 2024 Pacific Championships Final. The powerful front-rower averaged an impressive 140 running metres across her 19 NRLW appearances to date.

Head Coach Brayden Wiliame said the decision to name Co-Captains was an easy one:
“While we have a lot of experienced leaders in our squad, Tayla and Teka have been standouts within the group.
"Since arriving at the Club, Tayla has led by example in training and her leadership qualities are evident in how naturally teammates gravitate toward her. She’s a commanding halfback who understands how to manage a game and bring out the best in those around her.
"Similarly, Teka brings a wealth of experience from the NRLW and at Test level, and has had a huge impact on the squad throughout the pre-season.
"Both players embody Bulldogs DNA — through their work ethic, their pride in the jersey, and their understanding of what it means to represent this Club.”
Bulldogs CEO Aaron Warburton welcomed the announcement and the historical significance it brings:
“We are incredibly proud to announce the first-ever Captains of our NRLW team as we prepare for one of the most momentous occasions in Club history — the day our NRL and NRLW sides both run out at Accor Stadium on the same day, in front of our Bulldogs faithful.
"With the Blue and White now represented at the top level across both the men’s and women’s competitions, we step into an exciting new era. Tayla and Teka will be at the forefront of this era, and they are outstanding leaders. I know our NRLW team will be in great hands when they take the field in a few weeks’ time.”
