Ampol State of Origin Late Mail
Blues v Maroons, Wednesday 8.05pm at Accor Stadium
Blues: Jacob Kiraz has been drafted into the NSW squad as 18th man and will come into the side if winger Brian To'o succumbs to a knee injury. Nathan Cleary (groin), Jarome Luai (infection), Payne Haas (back) and Hudson Young (groin) are all under injury clouds but expected to play in Wednesday night's decider. Lindsay Smith and Bradman Best are also in the extended squad and could be a late inclusion in case of injury.
Maroons: An injury to Kalyn Ponga has seen Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow shift to fullback, with Billy Slatey calling up Broncos journeyman Gehamat Shibasaki in the centres. Val Holmes returns to the wing as a result. Josh Papalii is set for his first Origin game since 2022 after answering an SOS from Slater and will provide more punch up front for the Maroons. Reece Walsh is the 18th man and could add an X-factor to the side if called upon.

Bulldogs: The loss of Canterbury's NSW Blues stars has forced Cameron Ciraldo into a reshuffle, with Blake Wilson set to come on to the wing and Enari Tuala called into the centres. Viliame Kikau will captain the side, while Lachlan Galvin is set to reprise his super-sub role. Jack Todd remains in the extended squad and is a chance of returning to the NRL after completing a comeback from injury via NSW Cup in recent weeks. No changes in Thursday's 24-hour update.
Broncos: Star winger Jesse Arthars (ribs) and prop Corey Jensen (calf) have been ruled out, with 26-year-old forward Ben Talty to make his NRL debut from the bench and Delouise Hoeter promoted from 18th man to the wing. Tyson Smoothy comes into the starting side at prop. With Reece Walsh among five Broncos on Origin duty, Selwyn Cobbo has been recalled and will line up at fullback.

Raiders: Young gun Chevy Stewart is pushing for his first NRL appearance of the year and is currently 18th man for the Raiders. The loss of Hudson Young and Josh Papalii to Origin duties will see Trey Mooney play his first game since Round 4, while Simi Sasagi retains his place in the starting side.
Dragons: Tyrell Sloan is set for his first-grade return as Shane Flanagan navigates an overflowing casualty ward. Sione Finau joins Sloan on the wing, with Corey Allan set to shift to the centres. Raymond Faitala-Mariner is on track to start in the back row in his return to the side, with Loko Pasifiki Tonga, Hame Sele and Michael Molo called up to the bench. Young gun Nick Tsougranis remains in the extended squad and could receive a late call up just days after being added to the Dragons' Top 30 squad.

Roosters: Tom Rodwell is set to make his NRL debut after coming on to the wing in a rejigged backline. With Rob Toia on Origin duties, Mark Nawaqanitawase shifts to the centres. The loss of Connor Watson, Angus Crichton, Spencer Leniu and Lindsay Collins has also prompted Trent Robinson to rework his forward pack, with Makahesi Makatoa to start for the second time this year and Benaiah Ioelu to line up at hooker. Exciting youngster Ethan King is 18th man and could come into the side closer to kick off.
Wests Tigers: Injuries, suspension and Origin unavailability are set to see the Wests Tigers roll out a new-look spine on Sunday afternoon. Sunia Turuva will shift to fullback, with Adam Doueihi and Latu Fainu in the halves and Tristan Hope at hooker. Alex Twal will captain the side at lock, while forward Charlie Murray is set for his second NRL game after being added to the bench. Royce Hunt is in the extended squad and could earn a recall to the first grade side.

Sea Eagles: Tommy Talau is set to make his return from hamstring tightness via the interchange bench, with Jason Saab retaining his spot on the wing. Manly will be without veteran forward Nathan Brown, who was ruled out with a ruptured biceps tendon. Tom Trbojevic will line up in the centres for the second-straight week, with Lehi Hopoate to start at fullback.
Rabbitohs: Veteran Cody Walker is pushing to overcome a hamstring injury suffered last week. While he's unlikely to play on Sunday afternoon, the playmaker remains an outside chance of a late call up. Should he come into the side, Jack Wighton will likely shift from five-eighth to centre and Euan Aitken return to the forward pack. Latrell Mitchell's NSW selection will see Alex Johnston shift to fullback as he continues his quest for the all-time try-scoring record.
